Recent reports reveal that schools in New York suffer from the worst racial segregation of any U.S. state and in addition, city schools suffer from the same. According to a paper from the Civil Rights Project at the University of California at Los Angeles, many black and hispanic students in NYC attend schools with almost no white students. Parents and educators have called the widespread segregation an embarrassment.
