Nwakali happy with Manchester City promotion

Nigerian junior International Chidebere Nwakali is happy with his progress at English club Manchester City where he has been promoted to the U21 side from the U17’s.
Nwakali was snapped up by the Citizens after posting some fantastic performances for the Nigerian team at the last U17 World Cup in faraway United Arab Emirates where the team eventually won her fourth world title, outscoring every team in the process with the young talented player providing cover in midfield.

The 17-year-old is currently in the Nigerian U20 training camp alongside the likes of his Manchester City’s teammate Kelechi Iheanacho, Captain of the World Cup winning side Musa Muhammed, Musa Yahaya, Taiwo Awoniyi, Abdullahi Alfa, and Zaharadeen Bello, preparing for the 2015 AYC qualifier in Tanzania.
“To graduate from the U17 to the U21 of Manchester City is a very great pleasure. In Manchester City the trainings are very tactical like what we have here in the national team that is why I’ve been able to adapt perfectly to the team,” Nwakali told Lagos State based radio Brilafm.
The U21 squad of Manchester City is called the elite developmental squad and it is handled by former Arsenal Captain Patrick Viera but Nwakali’s name is not yet listed there as the season draws to a close. However, he is expected to be listed as a member of that squad for next season as he continues his footballing progress with the English giants.
