A sophomore starter for the University of
Massachusetts men's basketball team has come forward as the first openly
gay player in Division I men's college basketball. Derrick Gordon
recently came out to
his family, coaches and
teammates and then decided to publicly acknowledge his sexuality. The
22-year old shooting guard was inspired by NBA vet Jason Collins when
became the first openly gay NBA player last spring. Do you think this will inspire others to be open about their sexuality in this sport?
